The law can protect you from harassment in a variety of different ways. In most cases, your options depend on who is carrying out the harassment, be it your landlord or someone else.

If your landlord does something that interferes with your ability to enjoy living in your home in peace and is intending to make you leave your home or take away your rights, s/he could be guilty of harassment. You may feel you have to leave your home because of threats, abuse or intimidation. It may be possible to stay in your home if you take action against the person responsible. If you don't want to take these steps, the council may have to house you. (Applies in England only)
