What happens when I send you my query?
One of our operators will reply to your query. They are not legally trained but will be able to find out what kind of information and advice you need.

Does it matter what my issue is?
Our operators are trained to provide information on any issue.
However, free specialist advice is only available to those eligible for legal aid with issues relating to Employment, Welfare Benefits, Family, Debt or Housing.
To check if you qualify for free specialist advice our operator will ask you for some information on your finances.

How will the specialist legal adviser contact me?
The specialist adviser will contact you on the email address provided. You also request they contact you by phone if you prefer. They will then take on your case.
They will write letters on your behalf and speak to people like landlords and creditors for you. They can even prepare bundles of documents for you to take to an employment tribunal.

When is the service open?
We are available Monday to Friday 9am-8pm and Saturday morning 9am-12.30pm and will reply to queries during these times.

How do I know you've received my query?
All queries will be acknowledged automatically. If you don't receive an acknowledgment please submit your query again.

What should I do if I need urgent advice?
If your issue is pressing and waiting up to 24 hours for a response will cause you difficulty please call the CLA helpline on 08001 225 6653. Calls cost from 4p/min, or you can ask us to call you back.
